The Rundown
The Staff
After Lights Out: The Rundown has an all-female lineup both behind-the-scenes and upfront. We pride ourselves on being powerful women from a variety of backgrounds that love every second of what we do. Read the paragraphs below to get to get to know the podcast's hosts, blog writers, editors, and staff a little better.
Alyssa Lapham
Hi! My name is Alyssa and I am one of the hosts for the podcast 'After Lights Out: The Rundown' and now also a writer for the associated blog. I've been a fan of Formula 1 and watching it for as long as I can remember and have many fond (but also many not so fond) memories associated with the sport. I'm from the South West of the UK so apologies if my accent jumps out too much. I am currently 20 years old and a second year university student studying something that has absolutely nothing to do with F1 but we move.

Emily
Hello! My name is Emily and I’m sorta the behind-the-scenes girl for both the podcast and the blog! I run our social media pages, take notes during the race-weekend, help edit the podcast/blog posts, and overall help manage everything so that things run smoothly. I’m a Canadian student who started watching F1 in 2019 and have only gotten more and more passionate about this amazing sport! I’m thrilled to be able to express my love for F1 in this way and I can’t wait to see where this goes!

Phoebe
Hey everyone! My name is Phoebe and I’ve been a fan of F1 for a couple of years now, though my passion really sparked last year. My first F1 memory is watching Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button race the famous Vodafone McLaren livery, and that definitely did something to me because McLaren has been my favourite team for a while. I also may be a bit biased- coming from the South West, I’m a big fan of our local heroes Lando Norris and Jenson Button… I’m just thrilled to be fulfilling my aspirations in writing, when I find the time between my A-Level studies.

Annika Pienaar
Hi, my name is Annika! Currently studying and living in Sydney, and one of the hosts of the podcast 'After Lights Out: The Rundown’ whilst helping out with the graphic design side of things! Relatively new fan of Formula One after watching Drive to Survive end of 2020, and loving learning all things F1 from these lovely talented ladies. Hopefully bringing some entertainment to your listening with my very blunt and limited understanding of F1 as I continue to learn.
Ruth
Hi! I’m Ruth and I’m so excited to be sharing my love for motorsports on this blog! Formula one would usually be on in the background in my household and I was definitely more of a casual fan when I was growing up. However, in the last couple of years I began watching it more, getting more and more excited for race Sundays. Now I’m fully obsessed and love talking (and writing!) about f1 with anyone.
Katie
Hi everyone, my name is Katie and I'm a British F1 fan and have been since the day i was born. Ever since I was younger, every Sunday I would sit on my dads lap in his bed and not move till every lap was done. I'm currently at college and aspire to move to University doing a Motorsports management and logistics course and work for McLaren one day! Im here with this lovely group of ladies to learn, write, edit and just make friends. Come along for the ride xo
Misha
Hey! My name is Misha, a Dutchie who’s relatively new to the world of Formula One (and motorsports in general). Like a lot of Dutch people, I started following it a bit when Max Verstappen joined F1, but when a friend of mine told me in the beginning of 2020 that I should watch Drive to Survive if I liked F1 even a bit, I got completely hooked… don’t think I’ve missed a race ever since. In my day-to-day life I work in IT, but as somebody who studied literature, linguistics and translation, writing is something I really like, and I’m very happy that I have the opportunity to combine my love for writing and F1 here!

Jaymi
Hello! My name is Jaymi, I’m 19, and I’m quite new to the world of Formula 1, having only begun watching it this year after first watching Drive to Survive. Despite having only begun watching F1 this year, I’m a fast learner and have picked up on the rules and terminology quite quickly. My new love for F1 also led me to begin watching F2 as well. As an Italian-Australian, I am obligated to support Daniel Ricciardo and Oscar Piastri due to our shared nationalities. I am currently studying Sport Development, and have plans to move onto study Media and Communications next year. I hope to one day work in a professional sports environment, whether that be F1 or one of the many other sports that I have an interest in. I joined the team in hopes of gaining some more experience in journalistic writing, interacting with other F1 fans, and learning some new things about F1 and Motorsport along the way.
Joelle
Hi, my name is Joëlle. I am a proud Dutchie, studying to become a teacher, as well as a educational scientist. As a Dutchie, it was quite the coincidence I started watching from the first race Max won in 2016 after wondering what all the fuss in the supermarket sponsoring Max was all about. Ever since, I have been hooked on the sport and over time, I have started to enjoy the other branches of the sport as well, like formula 2, 3 and E. On the first two, I will be writing on this blog as well as helping with the editing of the podcasts, an opportunity I am stoked about, especially because we have a brilliant team of girls here.
